Equipment Needed
Scepter Silt Rolls, Barrier Silt Posts, Shovel or Trenching Machine, Club Hammer or Scepter Driver Tool.
Measuring Tape, Spray Paint or Marking Flags, and Optional HD UV Cable Ties.
Personal Protective Equipment
Hard Hat, Safety Gloves, Safety Glasses, Safety Vest, and Steel Toe Boots
Step 1
Begin by marking your fence line and post locations using a string line
Step 2
Using a shovel or a trenching machine, dig a trench 6-9”(15-23cm) by 7-10” (18-25.4cm) for your Silt fencing.
Step 3
Roll out the Scepter Silt Fencing material with a Silt roll machine, or by hand along the trench.
Step 4
Loop your Scepter silt posts through the ribbon on the Silt fence material and using a club hammer or the Scepter post driving tool, install them till the lower hook locks the silt ribbon to the ground.
Step 5
Attach the silt fence material to the top hook under the top hem of the silt fence material.
Step 6
Insert the silt fence material into the trench and check for tension before backfilling. Then repeat Steps 3-6 as you move along your fence line.
Step 7
When a silt fence roll ends, grab a loose post and wrap it around the end, attach the new roll to another post in the same location locking the material together.
Step 8
When your Scepter Silt Fence is complete, check for any gaps in material and backfill to ensure fence integrity.
